Face Reading Workshop

  • Santa Monica Avenue San Diego, CA, 92107 United States (map)

It is general knowledge that we develop more wrinkles as we age. Mostly, this is true. But what if we didn't have to keep them all? What if we could understand why we have the ones we do and choose to release those we don't want? This workshop dives into the emotional underlay and meaning of the lines we carry on our faces and examines which of those belong to us and which don't. We will learn how easy it is to release those emotions that we don't need to harbor and how the associated lines will go away, too. Wrinkles do not have to be permanent. The way we age is not set. This workshop will help participants understand their own emotional management and how that can and will benefit them in the years to come.

Workshop Expert, Grace J. Strojanov

Grace graduated with a Master of Science degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine in 2009 from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist in the state of California and a nationally Board-certified Chinese Herbalist. She began her career in New York City and worked abroad onboard the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship. When she returned from traveling overseas, she established a private practice in San Diego, California.

Before becoming a Chinese medical practitioner, adventurous Grace explored several pursuits in Western medicine. She found her footing in healthcare while studying her undergraduate courses at UCSD and became an open-water lifeguard and First Responder. From there, she worked as an EMT in an Emergency Department, a Hyperbaric chamber, and then became an Orthopedic Technologist, Certified. She assisted orthopedic surgeons for several years both in the clinic and in surgery. It was during this time that she recognized the need for more extensive non-emergent, non-invasive medical options. If a condition doesn’t respond to medication, or physical therapy, and waiting for surgery is the last option … can anything else be done? At this point in her life, Grace discovered Chinese medicine—Nutrition, Bodywork, Meditative Exercise, Acupuncture, and HERBS! She never looked back.

Grace has a passion for helping people understand how their bodies and minds work, and how to attain better health for themselves and for their loved ones.

Once in private practice, Grace began by working with the same conditions with which she was familiar in Western medicine: primary practice and emotional support, orthopedics, and post-op recovery. Over the years, she developed her diagnostic skills and expanded her practice to include internal medicine, women's health, and reproductive medicine. She benefited greatly from the mentorship of Deb Davies, doctor of Chinese medicine, licensed acupuncturist, childbirth educator, and women’s health specialist, and underwent extensive pregnancy and birth training, including becoming a birth doula. Grace has worked with couples and individuals seeking to support their fertility and has nurtured them through all stages of their journey—preconception, pregnancy, and postpartum. Through this experience, Grace has come to understand just how significantly the way a person feels contributes to their expression of health. Enter the application of Face Reading. The psychological branch of Chinese medicine has been used in practice since this medicine’s inception. During the transition into Traditional Chinese medicine in the 1940s, it was forgotten. It is now being reawakened in modern day practitioners through the great works of Lillian Bridges and other eminent face readers like her. Grace was fortunate to have studied extensively with Lillian before her passing and attained the rank of Master Face Reader through Lillian’s legacy, the Lotus Institute. Grace brings this knowledge into every session with her patients, adding rich layers of meaning to their understanding and experience of their own journeys.

Grace has a passion for helping people understand how their bodies and minds work, and how to attain better health for themselves and for their loved ones. She counsels her patients in preventative healthcare by offering supportive nutrition and lifestyle choices, herbal medicine, and regular acupuncture. Grace also teaches Face Reading at her alma mater, guiding students as they learn about themselves and delve into the intricacies of this beautiful medicine.

She is dedicated to helping those who seek this wisdom find it.
